Innovative Gas-Powered Crematorium Revolutionizes Small Animal Farewells, Setting a New Standard for Pet Aftercare.
In a pioneering move, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced a groundbreaking crematorium dedicated to small animals, focusing on cats and dogs.
The Chief Guest was the Hon. Member of Parliament - Mr.Gopal Shetty.
Situated at Evershine Nagar, adjacent to the Ahimsa back gate, this facility operates on gas, utilizing specially imported machinery from the United Kingdom. Notably, it caters to animals weighing up to 50 kilograms.
The crematorium services, inclusive of strays and beloved pets, are provided entirely free of charge, with an option for patrons to offer voluntary tips to the dedicated laborers, acknowledging the demanding nature of their work.
To utilize this facility, individuals must present a death certificate from a government or private veterinarian. For booking a slot or inquiries, interested parties can call 8873887364. Operating hours span from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, ensuring accessibility throughout the week. Moreover, preparations are underway to establish a morgue capable of housing up to 10 bodies during emergencies when the crematorium is temporarily unavailable.
However, it's important to emphasize that this morgue is solely intended for cremation purposes and not for post-mortem examinations. This additional facility is anticipated to be operational in the coming days, further enhancing the service's capabilities.
